CrisisGo Recognized for Student Safety Innovation in 2022 EdTech Breakthrough Awards Program
Prestigious International Awards Program Honors Outstanding Educational Technology Products and Companies
St. Louis, Missouri — CrisisGo, a leading provider in emergency communications, incident management, and student & staff health management, today announced that its CrisisGo’s Safety iResponse platform has been selected as the winner of the “Best Technology Solution for Student Safety” award in the fourth annual EdTech Breakthrough Awards program conducted by EdTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies and solutions in the global educational technology market. In 2021 CrisisGo’s Safety iPass solution was recognized as EdTech Breakthrough’s "Classroom Management Solution of the Year."
CrisisGo’s Safety iResponse is a digital safety and crisis response platform that emphasizes the participation of all parties—from school safety teams to school staff, students, parents, and the larger community such as first responders. The platform provides a swift and reliable way to warn all parties immediately, to communicate throughout the incident, and to escalate the situation to first responders to include every appropriate party in the response effort. CrisisGo’s Safety iResponse also helps schools recover from incidents by allowing staff to keep track of everyone and to have the ability to review safety data from incidents.
Additionally, CrisisGo’s newest extension of their safety platform, Safety iControl, is an easy-to-use, powerful virtual school safety command center which can be accessed with any type of device. Safety iControl is able to get school districts up and running in less than 5 days. Importantly, staff can use a safety client that requires no login or app download. The Safety iControl web application provides emergency communication systems and methods for enabling intra-organization emergency communication - as well as enabling cross-organization communications for instant collaboration of emergency responses among different organizations.
“In today’s world, being warned that there is an ongoing emergency is simply not enough as keeping schools safe requires the active engagement of all stakeholders with the full scope of prevention, preparation, response, and recovery,” said James Johnson, managing director, EdTech Breakthrough. “CrisisGo’s digital safety and crisis response platform delivers on this need, serving as the easiest, most secure way to build a safety network and provides K-12 schools with everything they need to connect the dots for school safety. Congratulations to the CrisisGo team on winning a second EdTech Breakthrough award - this time for ‘Best Technology Solution for Student Safety.’”
The mission of the EdTech Breakthrough Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the innovation, hard work and success in a range of educational technology categories, including Student Engagement, School Administration, Adaptive Learning, STEM Education, e-Learning, Career Preparation and many more. This year’s program attracted more than 2,250 nominations from over 18 different countries throughout the world.
“We are deeply honored to be singled out by EdTech Breakthrough once again. At CrisisGo, we set out to connect people, schools, and technology to ensure that everyone has what they need to be safer, no matter what situation occurs,” said Jim Spicuzza, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, CrisisGo. “CrisisGo helps organizations fulfill the duty of ensuring that everyone is notified of critical events - and that everyone can report their status, so the organization can assist those that need help. CrisisGo helps create a safety culture that is not only built on a solid foundation with a clear pathway to growth, but is also sustainable and generational.”
CrisisGo is the only mobile emergency response system that provides a student safe app, Safe2SpeakUp. This application was built for students and is the student companion to CrisisGo’s Bully & Tips reporting tool. Using Safe2SpeakUP allows students to report bully-related activity involving themselves or their friends to their school’s safety team. Safe2SpeakUP users can message with the school’s safety team as well as message groups that their school district has granted them permission to access.
CrisisGo’s Safety iResponse is available on computers, tablets, and mobile devices to make safety accessible everywhere and is used by more than 16,000 schools.
